PLEASE TAKE TIME TO READ ALL THE NOTES AND SCHEDULE OF EVENTS ON THE TOURNAMENT INFO PAGE. IF YOU DO THIS, YOU WILL BE WELL INFORMED.
PRACTICE ROUNDS: JUST CALL DORNICK HILLS CC AND SCHEDULE. MUCH ACTIVITY WILL BE ON FRIDAY. THE OJGT DIRECTOR WILL BE THERE ON FRIDAY TO DOT PIN PLACEMENTS AND SET TEES. PLZ CHECK IN THE PRO SHOP FOR ANY CHANGES.
REGISTRATION: ALL YOUR GIFTS, TEAM SHIRTS, HAT ETC WILL BE IN A BIG BAG WITH A BAG TAG ATTACHED AT THE SCOREBOARD NLT 11 AM ON FRIDAY. JUST PICK THEM UP THERE. FACE PAINT ETC WILL BE AT SCOREBOARD. GET CRAZY: TEAM SPIRIT.
UNIFORMS: BRING A PAIR OF DARK PANTS/SHORTS AND LIGHT TAN/KHACKI FOR EACH DAY. PLZ WEAR THE HAT PROVIDED TO YOU AS WELL.

COLLEGE COACH Q & A FRIDAY EVENING: STARTS @ 6:45 UPSTAIRS. DON’T MISS THIS ONE. ONE OF THE HIGHLIGHTS OF THE EVENT. SOME GREAT COACHES ARE COMING FOR MEN & WOMEN. DRINKS/SNACKS PROVIDED. TRY TO EAT DINNER BEFORE. STANDING ROOM ONLY USUALLY.
BREAKFAST: SATURDAY DORNICK WILL ALLOW YOU TO ORDER OFF MENU. SUNDAY YOUR ARE ON YOUR OWN. THERE IS AN IHOP NEXT DOOR TO HOST HOTEL.
FOOD: PLAYERS WILL HAVE BOX LUNCHES DURING ROUND @ TURN. BANQUET MEALS FOR PLAYERS ARE ALSO PROVIDED. SPECTATORS MAY PURCHASE FOOD ALL DAY AT CLUB. CASH/CHECK ONLY. BANQUET MEAL TICKETS ARE $20 AND SOLD ALL DAY AT BAR.

BANQUET: MUCH PREPERATION AND COORDINATION FOR THE ENTIRE EVENT HAS BEEN DONE. WE EXPECT ALL PLAYERS TO ATTEND THE BANQUET SATURDAY. VERY NICE MEAL AND GREAT SPEAKER. COACH HRNCIAR HAS 30 YEARS OF COLLEGE COACHING AND HAS CHAIRED SEVERAL NCAA GOLF COMMITEES. YOU WILL LEARN SOMETHING.
PARENTS: OPEN/CASH BAR STARTING @ 5:30 PM. PARENT WILL ALSO EAT DOWNSTAIRS. PLAYERS WILL EAT UPSTAIRS. THEN EVERYONE MOVES UPSTAIRS AFTER EATING.
FORMAT: THIS IS A STROKE PLAY EVENT WITH AN INNER TEAM COMPETITION FOR THE ANNUAL RED RIVER CUP. YOU WILL BE PAIRED IN FOURSOMES WITH A FELLOW TJGT TEAMATE. WE HAVE PUT YOU IN FOUR MAN/GIRL TEAMS FOR THE SCOREBOARD. WE WIL THROW OUT THE HIGHEST SCORE OUR OF THE FOUR AND COMPARE MATCHING TEAMS FOR ONE POINT. IE. TJGT TEAM ONE vs. OJGT TEAM ONE. THE MOST HEAD-TO-HEAD POINTS WINS THE CUP. TJGT LEADS THE SERIES 3 vs. 1. THIS IS FOR BRAGGING RIGHTS ALL YEAR. BRING YOUR “A” GAME.
COURSE STRATEGY: THE COURSE IS SHORT AND EVERYONE THINKS THEY WILL “KILL IT” NOT!!! THIS IS A PLACEMENT COURSE AND THE GREENS ARE FAST AND HAVE DIFFERENT LEVELS. BE PATIENT. DON’T TRY AND HIT DRIVER OFF EVERY TEE. PLAY SMART, CONSERVATIVE AND TRY TO HIT GREENS. PUTTING THE GREENS ARE THE KEY.
REMEMBER, EVERY STROKE IS IMPORTANT. DON’T GIVE UP. IT COULD MEAN A TEAM POINT AND TJGT HAS ONE THE CUP WITH JUST ONE STROKE IN MATCHES EACH YEAR.
FINAL ROUND: YOU WILL BE PAIRED ACCORDING TO FIRST DAY SCORES JUST LIKE ANY TOURNAMENT.

RED RIVER CHALLENGE INVITATIONAL TOURNAMENT HISTORY

The Red River Challenge is a annual stroke play tournament that encompasses an inner team competition between the Tx. Jr. Golf Tour & Ok. Jr. Golf Tour. The tournament brings together the best players of both tours and features a multi-state as well as international ranked field . Furthermore, the tournament is played on a collegiate & historic venue @ Dornick Hills, CC. Dornick Hills has hosted the Maxwell Collegiate Tournament for years and is the final resting place of the famous course designer Mr. Perry Maxwell.

The Red River Challenge has been ranked as one the highest Golfweek Ranked tournaments each year outside the AJGA. Dozens of players the past four years who have participated in the event have gone onto successful college golf careers. Each year the tournament hosts a very popular College Coach Q & A Friday evening along with a College Coach as the featured banquet speaker. Past Banquet Speakers have included: Coach Mike McGraw, Oklahoma State, Coach John Fields, Univ. of Texas, Coach Lynn Monzingo, Univ. of Oklahoma & Coach Jerry Hrnciar, Cameron University. TJGT currently leads the team championship series 3 vs. 1.

PRACTICE ROUND INFORMATION

The practice round for Friday, Nov. 29th has been cancelled. Players may walk the course and work on the Putting Green. No Range either.

Sorry for the inconvenience, but it has rained continuously in Ardmore OK.

Tournament Registration

Registration will be in front of the scoreboard . Players will receive team color hats and two shirts provided by Nike. Players will also receive a two sleeves of Nike Tour D or Vapor Balls provided by Nike as tournament gifts. Players will be expected to wear the provided shirts each day depending on weather conditions. Players will also receive personalized bag tags and the new TJGT Tee Shirt. Highly recommend all players bring a something like an Under Armor long sleeve to wear under their team shirts. That way you can display your team colors. Weather will be cool in the morning. If you have your Nike Jackets from Membership last year plz bring those to wear. If not, no problem.

Everyone in the team shirts, hats etc always look good, professional and show team spirit.

Registration will start at 07:15 on Saturday or you can register early at the scoreboard during practice rounds if you see one of the TJGT Staff. Gift Bags will be located at the scoreboard on friday with each players name.

Please allow enough time to check in with registration table to ensure tour. staff know you are present and you can make your tee time.
