Junior Golf Rankings Guideline

Junior Golf Rankings Guidelines
Effective September 1, 2003

In order for junior tournaments to be included in the Golfweek/Titleist Junior rankings database the following conditions must be met (This is the minimum standard that must be met to be included in the rankings):

  • Events must have minimum of 40 boys and 12 girls at the start
  • A minimum of 3 states or countries must be represented in the field
  • At least one certified USGA/PGA rules official must be on site during the entire event
  • Caddies and golf carts are prohibited. Pull carts are allowed. The only exception is for the U.S. Junior, which has its own rule
  • 54-hole events are the norm. 36-hole events will be considered on a case-by-case basis except during the months of May - September. 36 hole events will not be added during that time period. If an event is reduced due to inclement weather, it will still count in the database provided that the entire field completes 18 holes
  • The rankings will only count the oldest age division. Multiple divisions may only be combined if all juniors are playing from the same tees and yardage*
  • A pace of play policy must be disclosed, implemented, and enforced. Extensive waiting on course and 5+ hour rounds will not be acceptable##
  • A policy designed to prohibit withdrawal due to poor play must be disclosed, implemented, and enforced##
  • A code of conduct policy must be disclosed, implemented, and enforced##
  • For Junior Tours, no more than 2 ranked events at one venue.
  • Results must be transmitted to Golfweek electronically (results@golfweek.com) within 48 hours of the completion of play. Results must include the following information: Place, first name, last name, year of high school graduation, city, state, first (second/third/fourth) round score, total score, relation to par
  • The following minimum yardages must be observed: Boys 15-18 - 6500 Yards*; Boys 13-15 6200 Yards; Girls 15-18 - 5700 Yards; Girls 13-15 5300 Yards
  • Event status as a ranked event is not intended for use in a promotional context to attract players. Only Golfweek/Titleist logo can be used on the application or on schedules indicating a ranked event.

Failure to honor the guidelines will result in that event (and all related Association events) being disqualified from the rankings database.
