Juniors and/or accompanying adults can play as many practice rounds as they desire between now and the start of the event (Feb 7).

This is the same note below we posted at the Thanksgiving Classics at Horseshoe Bay.  There will be no changes to the course set up weather permitting. 

Many of you heard about some problems at the AJGA Event this summer on pace of play issues & course setup.  Essentially, the AJGA interns set the course up TO DIFFICULT. TJGT’s staff of High School Coaches and Horseshoe Bay’s Head Professional have spent great time to overcome any fears that you might have at this venue.  Therefore, we have listed the many improvements that  will  significantly increase your POSITIVE experience at Horseshoe Bay Resort. The golf course changes will be much improved and the resort is offering incredible value to all family members and players for this event FROM NOW UNTIL THANSGIVING. Take advantage of these great improvements and resort values and come spend Thanksgiving with the TJGT. Horseshoe Bay Head Professional Mr. Glenn Lee is an AVID Jr. Golf Supporter and will ensure you the best experience at any resort you have visited.  His staff is 1000% committed to Jr. Golf and  our Thanksgiving Event. WE WILL ALSO HAVE SOME FUN FAMILY ACTIVITES AT THE EVENT AS WELL. 

Pace of Play Concerns and Remedies – TJGT in Conjunction with Horseshoe Bay Golf Courses and at the direction of the Director of Golf, Mr. Glenn Lee, have put in place the following strategies to address concerns

·        ALL OB Boundaries on the three Horseshoe Bay Courses, used by the TJGT Thanksgiving Event, Will be played as LATERAL HAZARDS  This was not at the AJGA event and will speed up play significantly.  

·         Ram Rock (16-18 Boys) will be played at approximately 6650 - 6700 yards

·         Apple Rock (12-15 Boys & 12–18 Girls) 6038 yards and 5536 respectively.

·         TJGT Mini-Tour (Slick Rock) will play yardages that have been implemented during the Fall Events…The Mini-Tour Kids are doing GREAT!..and Great pace of Play! (see website)

·         Pin Placements will be carefully examined to promote Pace of Play and alleviate concerns.

·         Ram Rock Par 3’s will be played approx 125- 170 yards for all TJGT Contestants

·         Apple Rock Par 3’s will be played from forward tees not to exceed 140 yards

·         Course “Set up” will be monitored as it relates to the WEATHER and adjustments will be made by Glenn Lee’s Staff prior Tee Off EACH DAY.

PLAY HORSESHOE BAY RESORT COURSES PRIOR TO THANKSGIVING  FOR ONLY:  JUNIORS  $20, ACCOMPANYING ADULT $50: INCLUDES CART: ALL COURSES.  UNBELIEVABLE DEAL.

Horse shoe bay will provide a special, discounted dinner at the Lantana Grill ( just down the Hallway from Ballroom) for TJGT Families. This will allow everyone to eat before or after the show which starts at 7 pm.  This will make the logistics very easy and families will not have to leave the resort for dinner and rush back to the show. 

Social Hr. starts at 6:15 and the doors to the ballroom will be open at that time to view many videos from the season.  Everyone must be in there seats NLT 6:55 pm.

Each TJGT family will receive a 10% discount card for resort purchases/food to further reduce the cost.

The Lantana grill only seats apx 160 but there will be overflow on the patio and rooms down the hallway to accomadate families eating. You may carry your plate & drinks to tables set up for overflow. We highly recommned you call for reservations.
